Here are some of the lyrics from the new CD.....

Daddy's Old Harmonica
(Steve Kareta)

Diggin through the drawer the other day, Surprised at what I found
My daddy's old harmonica, Faded red and brown
It took me right back to the days
, When I was very young
I'd sit there on the front room floor, And listen to his songs
He'd play (na-na-na-na)

Well daddy joined the army, When he was just a teen
They handed him a rifle
, And sent him to the Philippines
Took eighteen days and nineteen nights, To cross the ocean blue
He brought that old harmonica, And this is what he'd do.
He'd play (na-na-na-na)

Snowblind from the waves, his ship sailed on for days and days
Now that was long ago, but I sure do miss my daddy so when he played....

I grew up playing music, I'm sure my Dad's to blame
He bought me my first 6-string, I've never been the same
Now dad's been gone a couple years, Surprising how time flies
But he left me with his music, In this song that never dies
It goes (na-na-na-na)

Cabana Cowboy (Steve Kareta)

The tourist girls from around the world, flock to that local boy
Hoping to find some wild romance, like the ladies
on the page of Voyeur
With his bleach blonde hair and his beach bum style, Heaven knows they can't resist.
A night on the town with the top rolled down, ain't nobody back home like this
.

He's a Cabana Cowboy
Scouting  that sandy range
He's a Cabana Cowboy
The damn fool's got it made

He came down for week that turned into a year, never seemed to make it back home
From the stories he tells, you can’t  figure out if he ever really had one at all.
His purpose in life is still unclear, though the beach bunnies don't seem to mind
He's  a fantasy made for a weekend escape, far away from their everyday lives.

The job is the pits and the money is poor, but the scenery makes up for the wage
Watching young live ads for that Coppertone tan, never fails to brighten his days
He
spends all day in that fake tiki hut renting out a sailboard or two
Not a care in the world, 'cept to rope the next girl, ain’t got much of nothing better to do

Drive me back to drinkin' (Steve Kareta)

The scars on that piano, tell of battles of the heart
When the whiskey served to wash away the pain
It's been far too long since I've felt the need for that
So could you do something to piss me off again?

Yeah there were weeks, when I didn't sleep for days
I had far too much fun getting' over you
Seems since things are better now, guess we're mellowing with age
But my drinkin' pals got nothing more to do

Is there something I can do to you, Or is it best just left alone
All this (walkin and a talkin's) (huggin and a kissin's) (happy co-existance is) getting' old
Use your imagination, please find something new
To drive me back to drinkin over you

I ain't talking nothing serious, like crashing my new car
Or maxing out my credit card on shoes
Just a little something, that kinda sets me off
And gives the boys and I a good excuse

To drive me back to drinkin' over you

Some "By The Sea" CD Lyrics

    By The Sea (Steve Kareta)

It wasn't very long ago this message came to me
It said If you want to find yourself you better spend time by the sea
I didn't wait around to hear if there was any more
I just packed up my belongings and left this note upon the door

It said you won't find me here, I've gone away, I won't be back
I can't be sure but if it's so, I'm think that I'm on track

By the sea, by the sea
You'll find me by the sea
My heart and soul have told me so
You've got to get back to the sea.

I headed out that morning past the place where I came from
Still so cold and lonely there, I've got keep on moving on
I wondered even farther to find a friend that I left there
I found this note upon his door, and this is what it said.

Somewhere there's a beach and a palm tree with my name
It may not be tomorrow, but I'll get there just the same
My heart will laugh, my soul will sing, and my toes dance in the sand
And you will find this message, and hear these words from me again

Boat Around The World (Bill Eagan)

I'm on a boat around the world
And I'm looking for my perfect girl
And I know she'll never go astray
"Cause on a boat around the world she can't get away

I'm on a boat around the world

I'm on a boat across the sea
And if you think you'd like to you can come with me
We'll be gone 'bout a hundred days or so
And after all is said and done you'll be glad if you go.

I'm on a boat around the world
And I think I've found my perfect girl
All she wants to do is play indoors
She likes it here, in the dark
See we've got no portholes, so there's no light
And even in the morning it's just like midnight

    Clifford (Steve Kareta)

Clifford was born by the ocean
He came in the usual way
His momma and daddy gave love and affection
And taught little Clifford to play.
Music was part of his system
The rhythm it run through his veins
Sooner than later the boy got a conga
And his world was never the same.

See some people live for their money
And some people live for the sea
But if you're born with the rhythm inside of your soul
Then only the beat sets you free.

T-Bone could talk with his fingers
He made his guitar cry and wail
Clifford and "T" got to jamming one day
And the whole village came out to hear
    Everyone knew Missy Cleo
They said that her voice take her far
At Carnival time people waiting in line just to
    Cheer on their neighborhood star.
